Concept note-1: -Poland, which had long been divided among Germany, Russia, and Austria-Hungary, was reconstituted. Russian land yielded the new nations of Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Russia and Austria-Hungary gave up additional territory to Poland and Romania. LUX.
Concept note-2: -In the aftermath of the war, following the collapse of the Russian, German and Austro-Hungarian Empires, Poland became an independent republic.
Concept note-3: -It was the first of the Minority Treaties and served as a template for the subsequent ones; together with Articles 87-93 of Treaty of Versailles, it also formally established Poland as a sovereign and independent state on the international arena.
Concept note-4: -Delegates signed the Treaty of Versailles in the former palace’s famous Hall of Mirrors, ending World War I. On June 28, 1919, the Treaty of Versailles was signed at the Palace of Versailles outside Paris, France.
Concept note-5: -The Versailles Treaty forced Germany to give up territory to Belgium, Czechoslovakia and Poland, return Alsace and Lorraine to France and cede all of its overseas colonies in China, Pacific and Africa to the Allied nations.
