EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -Babies or toddlers who have lived for months or years with two loving and attentive parents may react to divorce by: becoming more fussy or inconsolable when one parent is suddenly no longer around. becoming more clingy or insecure around the parent they live with or around new people.

Concept note-2: -Children may experience changes in behavior in the year following a divorce. They may be happy and engaged during some parts of the day, and angry, depressed, or withdrawn during others. It can be easy to overlook children’s sadness when parents are struggling to manage their own difficult emotions.

Concept note-3: -On average, children aged 6-10yrs old are least affected by divorces; however, children aged 1-2yrs old’s seem to be the most affected. Every marriage goes through its good times and bad times; however, when children become involved in the equation, the stakes become even higher.

Concept note-4: -In family law cases, emancipation of a minor (also called “divorce from parents") refers to a court process through which a minor can become legally recognized as an independent adult.
