Concept note-1: -A political party is made up of individuals who organize to win elections, operate government, and influence public policy. The Democratic and Republican parties are currently the primary parties in Congress. Political Parties in the Senate.
Concept note-2: -A group of people who come together to contest elections and hold power in the government is called a political party.
Concept note-3: -The mechanism by which people can choose their representatives at regular intervals and change them whenever they want to is called an election. They can choose who will make laws for them. They can choose who will form the government and take major decisions.
Concept note-4: -In India, Election Campaigns take place for a two-week period between the announcement of the final list of candidates and the date of polling. During this period the candidates contact their voters, political leaders address election meetings and political parties mobilise their supporters.
