A 59-year-old man with a long history of bronchiectasis disease, a pneumorrhagia, presented with facial and back edema, and proteinuria of 33mg/l. A pulmonary bleeding soon resulted in his death. A post-mortem revealed the enlarged firm kidneys with a sebaceous (waxy) cut surface. Histological investigation showed the accumulation at glomeruli and under tubular epithelium homogeneous eosinophilic, Congo-Red positive masses, which gave a metachromasia reaction with the methyl violet.
