Detailed explanation-1: -Vestibulocochlear nerve (CN VIII) The vestibulocochlear nerve provides for hearing and balance. Patients with this nerve injury oftentimes have vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing impairment. Hearing loss due to TBIs is more frequently a sensory loss than a conductive loss.
