EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -We will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream. This line is King’s answer to the question of “When will you be satisfied?” That is, when will the Civil Rights movement be content with the freedoms it gained the Black community.

Concept note-2: -One of the most famous anaphora examples comes from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. King uses the anaphoral phrase, “I have a dream, ” to start eight consecutive sentences: I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi … will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

Concept note-3: -Dr. King also uses the reference of light and shadows as a metaphor of the differences in civil rights justice. He stated, ‘’Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice.

Concept note-4: -“we will not be satisfied until “justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream.” This simile enhances the speech because it shows how much justice and righteousness MLK jr. wants.
