Concept note-1: -This increase in militarism helped push the countries involved into war. The immediate cause of World War I that made the aforementioned items come into play (alliances, imperialism, militarism, nationalism) was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary.

Concept note-2: -What were the main reasons for U. S. involvement in the war? The main reasons the US got involved in the war was because of nationalism, imperialism, militarism, and forming allies.

Concept note-3: -Why did the U.S. declare war on Spain? In 1898 the United States declared war on Spain following the sinking of the Battleship Maine in Havana harbor on February 15, 1898.
