Concept note-1: -Political isolationism: This refers to policies that aim to minimize a country’s political involvement in international affairs and to avoid entanglement in the conflicts and disputes of other countries.
Concept note-2: -isolationism, national policy of avoiding political or economic entanglements with other countries.
Concept note-3: -One example of isolationism is China. China cut itself off from the world in the fifteenth century and generally tried to stay isolated from that point forward. While China had sent out huge expeditions in the late 14th and early 15th centuries, no more expeditions sailed later on.
Concept note-4: -Isolationists advocated non-involvement in European and Asian conflicts and non-entanglement in international politics. Although the United States took measures to avoid political and military conflicts across the oceans, it continued to expand economically and protect its interests in Latin America.
Concept note-5: -Any country or region that adopts a strategy of reducing its dependence on world or regional trade or on economic and military alliances may be isolationist. It may not take any role in the deliberations of international organizations, although nominally it might be a member.
