Concept note-1: -The war ended with the signing of the Treaty of Paris on December 10, 1898. As a result Spain lost its control over the remains of its overseas empire–Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Philippines Islands, Guam, and other islands.
Concept note-2: -On December 10, the Treaty of Paris officially ended the Spanish-American War. The once-proud Spanish empire was virtually dissolved as the United States took over much of Spain’s overseas holdings.
Concept note-3: -Treaty of Peace between the United States of America and the Kingdom of Spain (Treaty of Paris), signed in Paris, December 10, 1898. A Proclamation. Spain relinquishes all claim of sovereignty over and title to Cuba.
