Concept note-1: -The ensuing Philippine-American War lasted three years and resulted in the death of over 4, 200 American and over 20, 000 Filipino combatants.

Concept note-2: -About 23, 000 American military personnel and about 100, 000 Filipino soldiers were killed or captured.

Concept note-3: -By the end of the war, 4, 200 American and 20, 000 Filipino combatants were dead. This is slight in comparison to the death toll of Filipino civilians. 200, 000 civilians fell to violence, famine, and disease.
