Concept note-1: -Wilson stated the moral principles he believed necessary for world peace. Governments, he said, must exist by the “consent of the governed” and enjoy the right to self-determination.
Concept note-2: -He served two terms in office, from 1913 to 1921. Wilson was a Progressive Democrat who believed in the power of the federal government to expose corruption, regulate the economy, eliminate unethical business practices, and improve the general condition of society.
Concept note-3: -Woodrow Wilson, a leader of the Progressive Movement, was the 28th President of the United States (1913-1921). After a policy of neutrality at the outbreak of World War I, Wilson led America into war in order to “make the world safe for democracy.”
Concept note-4: -However, Wilson’s capstone point calling for a world organization that would provide some system of collective security was incorporated into the Treaty of Versailles. This organization would later be known as the League of Nations.
Concept note-5: -I would rather belong to a poor nation that was free than to a rich nation that had ceased to be in love with liberty.
