Concept note-1: -Triple Entente, association between Great Britain, France, and Russia, the nucleus of the Allied Powers in World War I.

Concept note-2: -The Triple Alliance, comprised of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy, and Triple Entente, comprised of Russia, France, and Great Britain, were agreements between European nations seeking support against their perceived European enemies.

Concept note-3: -This led to the formation of the Triple Entente of Britain, France and Russia.

Concept note-4: -The objective of the alliance was to encourage co-operation against the perceived threat of Germany. Three years later, Russia, who feared the growth in the German Army, joined Britain and France to form the Triple Entente.
