Concept note-1: -The main aims of the ILO are to promote rights at work, encourage decent employment opportunities, enhance social protection and strengthen dialogue on work-related issues.

Concept note-2: -This annual Conference brings together governments’, workers’ and employer’s delegates of the ILO member States. Often called an international parliament of labour, the Conference establishes and adopts international labour standards and is a forum for discussion of key social and labour questions.

Concept note-3: -The ILO’s mission is to promote decent work for all workers. This is accomplished by promoting social dialogue, protection, and employment generation. The ILO provides technical support along with the support of development partners to multiple countries in order to achieve this mission.

Concept note-4: -The ILO aims to ensure that it serves the needs of working women and men by bringing together governments, employers and workers to set labour standards, develop policies and devise programmes.

Concept note-5: -Sustainable Development Goals “The primary goal of the ILO today is to promote opportunities for women and men to obtain decent and productive work, in conditions of freedom, equity, security and human dignity."
