Concept note-1: -Established by Article I of the Constitution, the Legislative Branch consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate, which together form the United States Congress.
Concept note-2: -The legislative branch of the U.S. government is called Congress. Congress has two parts, the Senate and the House of Representatives. Congress meets in the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, DC.
Concept note-3: -During the summer of 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia established equal representation in the Senate and proportional representation in the House of Representatives.
Concept note-4: -The Constitution gives to the Senate the sole power to approve, by a two-thirds vote, treaties negotiated by the executive branch.
