Concept note-1: -Disputes Solved by the League of Nations.
Concept note-2: -Due to the presence of Albanian immigrants in Greece and the Greek minority in Albania, historical and cultural ties as well as the frequent high-level contacts between the governments of Albania and Greece, the two countries today maintain excellent diplomatic relations.
Concept note-3: -The Corfu Incident was a 1923 diplomatic and military crisis between Greece and Italy. It was triggered when an Italian general heading a commission to resolve a border dispute between Albania and Greece was murdered in Greek territory along with members of his staff.
Concept note-4: -The Invasion of the Balkans: Yugoslavia, Greece and Crete, 1940-1941. On October 28, 1940, the Italian Duce, Benito Mussolini, invaded northern Greece from Albania, which was at that time under Italian control. Although greatly outnumbered, within a month the Greek army had pushed the Italians back into Albania.
Concept note-5: -The Greek minority in Albania is located mostly compactly, within the wider Gjirokastër and Sarandë regions and in four settlements within the coastal Himarë area where they form an overall majority population. Greek speaking settlements are also found within Përmet municipality, near the border.
