Concept note-1: -The main aims of the organisation included disarmament, preventing war through collective security, settling disputes between countries through negotiation and diplomacy, and improving global welfare.
Concept note-2: -The League of Nations was established with three main constitutional organs: the Assembly; the Council; the Permanent Secretariat. The two essential wings of the League were the Permanent Court of International Justice and the International Labour Organization.
Concept note-3: -The League Council had the authority to deal with any matter affecting world peace. The Council began with four permanent members (the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Japan) and four non-permanent members, which were elected by the Assembly for a three-year period.
Concept note-4: -As a result, the United States never joined the League of Nations. An intergovernmental organization founded on January 10, 1920, as a result of the Paris Peace Conference that ended the First World War.
