EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -"annexation". Encyclopedia Britannica, 2 Mar.

Concept note-2: -Annexation is the adding of a region to the territory of an existing political unit. An example of an annexation in the United States was when the Republic of Texas was admitted to the Union in 1845 as the 28th state.

Concept note-3: -Annexation is the process of bringing property into the City limits. It is one of the primary means by which cities grow. Cities annex territory to provide urbanizing areas with municipal services and to exercise regulatory authority necessary to protect public health and safety.

Concept note-4: -Annexation, in international law, is the forcible acquisition of one state’s territory by another state, usually following military occupation of the territory.

Concept note-5: -Examples of Annexation The most common form of annexation across history has been through military conquest and control. In 1938, for example, Nazi Germany marched into Austria and conquered it. They claimed that they wanted to unify the Germanic people and annexed the former nation of Austria into their country.
