Concept note-1: -The Great Migration was one of the largest movements of people in United States history. Approximately six million Black people moved from the American South to Northern, Midwestern, and Western states roughly from the 1910s until the 1970s.

Concept note-2: -The relocations of African Americans have been among the most consequential migrations in American history. Historians refer to one sequence as the Great Migration, referring to the exodus of more than seven million people from the South to states in the North and West in the decades between 1910 and 1970.

Concept note-3: -These African American migrants, or Exodusters, came primarily from Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Tennessee.
