Concept note-1: -The “Big Three” Allied leaders discussed the post-war fate of defeated Germany and the rest of Europe, the terms of Soviet entry into the ongoing war in the Pacific against Japan and the formation and operation of the new United Nations.

Concept note-2: -The Yalta Conference (codenamed Argonaut), also known as the Crimea Conference, held 4–11 February 1945, was the World War II meeting of the heads of government of the United States, the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union to discuss the postwar reorganization of Germany and Europe.

Concept note-3: -The main outcome of the Yalta Conference was the division of Germany into occupied zones administered by British, French, Soviet and US forces. The leaders also decided that the German military machine would be confiscated or abolished and that major war criminals ought to be tried by an international court.
