EXPLANATIONS BELOW
Concept note-1: -First, a state is said to have the right of self-determination in the sense of having the right to choose freely its political, economic, social, and cultural systems.
Concept note-2: -Self-determination for the peoples of Eastern Europe was point 10 of Wilson’s Fourteen Points. Also, points 5 (colonies), 7 (Belgium), 12 (Turkish empire) and 13 (Poland) promised self-determination, by which he meant the right of nations to rule themselves.
Concept note-3: -Self determination means that all people have the right to direct their futures; have control over how they live their lives, where, and with whom; and have authority over the resources that support them.
