Detailed explanation-1: -Connective Tissues Loose CT (or areolar tissue) is the most widespread CT of the body. It is characterized by an abundance of ground substance, plus thin and relatively few fibres and cells (Fig. 1.7). The main cellular elements are fibroblasts and a smaller amount of adipocytes.
Detailed explanation-2: -The ‘ground substance’ of extracellular matrix is an amorphous gelatinous material. It is transparent, colourless, and fills the spaces between fibres and cells. It actually consists of large molecules called glycosoaminoglycans (GAGs) which link together to form even larger molecules called proteoglycans.
