What is a slide?
|
Detailed explanation-1: -Be sure that there is room for it to move into place. Lower the Mechanical stage to make more room if needed. Place the slide on the Mechanical stage and fasten it with the stage clips. Look at the side of the microscope and turn the Adjustment knob until the lens is very close to, but not touching, the slide.
Detailed explanation-2: -Before putting a slide on the stage-turn on the illumination & set the light to a comfortable level. IT IS NOT NECESSARY to use the light at maximum-to do so can be very tiring to the eyes. Rotate the 4X objective into position.
Detailed explanation-3: -When using a light microscope it’s important to start with the low power objective lens as the field of view will be wider, increasing the number of cells you are able to see. This makes it easier to find what you’re looking for.
Detailed explanation-4: -Viewing Prepared Slides Start by rotating the objective lens to lowest power. Place a slide on the stage, label side up, with the coverslip centered. On LOW POWER ONLY, use the coarse focus knob to get the object into focus. If you cannot see anything, move the slide slightly while viewing and focusing.
