Detailed explanation-1: -When looking at the reticulum with ultrasonography it is a crescent shaped structure with a smooth contour. The reticulum is adjacent to the diaphragm, lungs, abomasum, rumen and liver. The heights of the reticular crests and depth of the structures vary across ruminant animal species.

Detailed explanation-2: -The reticulum is one of the chambers of the ruminant (cattle, goats and sheep) stomach and is characterised by the honeycomb pattern which lines the inside. Bacteria are present here which causes fermentation of the food material. The oesophagus can be seen entering the reticulum at the top of the picture.

Detailed explanation-3: -The reticulum is a pouch-like structure in the forward area of the body, close to the heart. The tissues in the reticulum form a network similar to a honeycomb. A small tissue fold lies between the reticulum and rumen, but the two aren’t separate compartments. Together they’re called the rumino-reticulum.
