EXPLANATIONS BELOW

Concept note-1: -Arms control aims to limit the number of weapons and to regulate their use by virtue of bilateral or multilateral agreements or arrangements. Disarmament, on the other hand, aims at the elimination of entire weapon system categories.

Concept note-2: -A key negotiation of the conference involved the discussions surrounding armed fortifications. It was agreed unanimously that any fortifications remaining from the First World War that had not been developed before the war along borders would be abolished.

Concept note-3: -Disarmament means the reduction of arms and weapons through international treaties and agreements signed in between two or more states.

Concept note-4: -The environment is also badly affected by the use of armaments. So disarmament is needed not only to reduce the danger of war but to prevent the waste of human and material resources and to strengthen the world peace and security.
