What was the significance of the Battle of Argonne Forest?

Concept note-1: -The Meuse-Argonne Offensive was a part of the final Allied offensive of World War I. It was one of the attacks that brought an end to the War and was fought from September 26 – November 11, 1918, when the Armistice was signed.

Concept note-2: -What was the significance of the Battle of the Argonne Forest? The allies pushed back the Germans and broke through enemy lines, effectively invading Germany.

Concept note-3: -Aiming to cut off the entire German 2nd Army, Allied Supreme Commander Ferdinand Foch ordered General John J. Pershing to take overall command of the offensive. Pershing’s American Expeditionary Force (AEF) was to play the main attacking role, in what would be the largest American-run offensive of World War I.
