In a sixth grade class, students are testing if a particular brand of detergent dissolved in water will slow plant growth when added to the soil. In their experiment, the students are using five identical plants. They are placing all five plants in the sun, and are supplying the same amount of water per plant. The students are dissolving five commonly used brands of detergent (Brands A, B, C, D and F) into the water. In this experiment, the students tested different brands of detergent. This is their-
